'Life in a Northern Town' (and other great tour-mate collaborations)

So someone just recently made me sit down and watch the video for the be adjoin tour mates Sugarland. Little Big Town and Jake Owen do of the Dream Academy's "Life in a Northern Town." If you haven't seen it and can excuse the ringtone banner watch it below. You won't be sorry. It got me wondering: What are the greatest tour-mate collaborations you've witnessed?
I have a handful I've been fortunate to see.. one that really sicks out is in the mid-90s. Bruce Hornsby was touring behind his first solo album and opening for Bonnie Raitt and he came out to play piano on "I Can't Make You Love Me," which he did on her album. Pretty darn cool.
Also they weren't journey partners but measure time Coldplay was in Atlanta where I live. Michael Stipe came out and did Nightswimming with Chris Martin on keyboards.
Finally. Brian Johnson the bring about singer of AC/DC lives near Tampa and he'll make occasional cameo appearances at shows there. I've been lucky to see him do "Highway to Hell" with Billy Joel and "You Shook Me All Night Long" with get this. Melissa Etheridge. Both performances blew the cover off the Ice Palace.
Several years back Bonnie Raitt. Bruce Honrsby. Jackson Brown and Shawn Colvin went on tour together as a band. It is still the most amazing concert I have ever seen. You could tell they enjoyed being up there and that they were having fun.
It must of been sometime around 1984 - I saw Adam Ant with Robbie Kreiger from the Doors of all people 'jam' Hello. I Love You. I was sure it was going to furnish me some credibility and was finally going to forbid my big brother from making fun of my like for all things Ant. It did not.
Part of what makes this collab so good is that they all know how to harmonize. (Plus Kristian Bush gets a solo! Yay!) And I'm with everyone else - I be to be able to buy this it's that good. At least it's playing on CMT.
OK forgive me for gushing for a moment but -- wow. First of all that's one of my favorite songs from the '80s (no clear reason why no specific memory attached to it. I just love the song). And it never occurred to me how good it would sound as a country song. Now if Sugarland would just preserve and release it. I'd be thrilled.
Onto your question: Anytime the Indigo Girls tour with someone they do a killer group sing at the end. Among the highlights: "Closer to Fine" (a staple. I cognise) with the Dixie Chicks and Ben Folds at an Honor the Earth benefit in Charlotte. N. C. in October of 2003. Just awesome. And they teamed up with Girlyman for a beautiful version of "Finlandia," which is included on their "Rarities" disc.
'The Bachelor' recap: Let's get this panty party started

 <modified>2008-03-18T23:41+00:00

Even though I'm sure he'll cause to be perceived me eventually. I am for now a big fan of our FIRST INTERNATIONAL BACHELOR. 27-year-old London banker Matt Grant. And not just for his 6'5" frame (a vision courtesy of those years rowing and playing rugby cricket and football at university). Also for the way he humped that phone booth. The man said he an interesting sense of humor. I hope we get to see more of it.
Since I actually believed Matt when he said he's looking for like and that he'd be "gutted" if his 71-year-old create didn't know his daughter-in-law and grandchildren. I desire producers wouldn't undergo set him up with "the craziest girls yet." There
was no need for Stacey (pictured with Matt) — what I create by mental act a Muppet would look and sound like it were to come to life — to be there. Had he kept her. I would have had to turn this Mini TV Watch over to someone else. She's an insult to anyone who likes bad TV because you couldn't change surface pretend that she was real. Rubbing his leg? Giving him a unify of her panties? Telling him that he's boring her by talking about where he'd act a woman in London? Saying "I have my bachelor's in nutrition. And nothing and no one will everstop me. I be to find a pharmaceutical that will aid something thatno one has thought of"? Passing out in a bed before the rose ceremony? As Miss Earth New York Marshana put it. "I don't be to say anything negative but…. I'm sorry. She is loud belligerent tasteless tacky classless. She's riding my nerves desire a pony." The only worthwhile thing that came out of having Stacey step a stiletto into that mansion was that we saw Erin H is a Mean Girl: "If you're so into nutrition why don't you get rid of those implants and lose a few pounds?... Stacey has nothing to furnish him. Except for a bad boob job a sequin color dress and her trashy tramp walk." We'll have to remember that Matt didn't see that when he starts to really like her.
Against my exceed judgment. I found myself liking a couple of the could-be-crazies. Tin Cup a k a. Carri thechurch marketer from Oklahoma City who ripped into a tin can with herteeth desire Darryl Hannah does that lobster in
seems harmless enough to keep around for the group dates. ingeminate Chelsea the arm wrestling champ from Santa Barbara. (I hope Matt doesn't mind me saying this but his clever confessional. "I only arm-wrestle women. Uh pregnant women normally," sounded desire something Hugh Grant would've said.) I liked
" Normally. I'm anti-instruments on first dates but I thought redheaded Michelle P played the heck out of her clarinet after she got the reed wet and vibrating. (I wonder how many times they made her put her clarinet together so the camera could surprise how truly phallic it was.) And then we come to Shayne the actress from Malibu who only falls into the could-be-crazy category because she thought she needed to express us that it's really no big broach that her dad is Lorenzo Lamas.
As for the seemingly-sane ladies. I was happy to see Amanda R get the first-impression rose. Partly because I wanted to see whether she could control her chronic hiccups during a one-on-one with Matt (and damn it she could) but mostly because it confirmed that Matt is looking for a real mate: She's 27 approachable a former four-year resident of the UK and apparently the woman he would've sketched had he been asked to draw his ideal specimen. Meanwhile. Noelle the 26-year-old photographer came off as a genuine sweetheart. Matt and I both appreciated the composed confidence of personal trainer Kristine whose approach reminded me of LeAnn Rimes. I wrote. "Oh she's 32" as a strike against her in my notes. Then remembered that I'm 32. (
). Though Matt sent some of the older women packing (30-year-old attorney Rebecca busting a move was somehow less shocking after watching Matt's move montage no?) he kept 33-year-old hot dog vendor Erin S. with whom he shared some laughs. I'm curious to see how he responds when her age is revealed. And also when he learns that 22-year-old Robin didn't go to any rugby matches when she lived in London for a bit. (Come on that little nod she gave him when he asked wasn't at all believable.)
Which bachelorette is your early favorite? And more importantly what would have been your strategy on that first night? Knowing myself if I'd just been introduced to a British rower. I'd have asked him how plausible the end of
I normally check this for the trainwreck but I actually LIKE Matt. He's sincere has respect for the women (imagine that!) excellent manners goofy comprehend of humour is relaxed shows genuine arouse and is well-spoken. If he keeps being the way he was measure night the next time a guy asks me what women want. I'll enjoin him to Matt give. And I can't believe I said that. Hell just got really really cold.
I think what I like best is how unsubtle Matt was in his checking out of the women. His relentless oh-wows and full-on eying of many of the girls was amusing. Plus it made me desire him more than any of the previous Bachelors (at least so far) because he is at least admitting that these women are here for him and he can be a skeazeball as much as he wants because they ordain all "fall in love" with him by the middle of next week's episode.
Matt seems desire a good bachelor - he has a much bigger vocab than the previous bachs plus that accent and quite fetching. I wish he had a better group of girls to choose from. My favorite girl is Amanda R - I liked her from the moment she stepped out of the limo. Also. I believe most of those girls embellished their resumes - photographer (means she works at Penn Camera) advertising exec (hey. I pass out flyers outside a instruct station) make-up artist (I work at the local cosmetic answer) and who could drop the former furnish aide (seroiusly girl friend you are UNEMPLOYED) at least Erin the "hot dog vendor" kept it real instead of calling herself a chef.
I was essentially screaming in horror every time Stacey and her weirdly botoxed face was on the check. Then because I am a glutton for punishment. I kept looking for her during the rose ceremony! I couldn't find her for a while and I wondered if she was still passed out pantyless. Unfortunately someone open her and apparently propped her up. Clearly her buzz had worn off as she didn't say anything remotely amusing at the end darnit. LOVE the new bachelor and his hilarious dance moves (which sad for him are VERY Hugh Grant but I love Hugh Grant so it's cool...)
Ahem. Well. I’ve slowly been working on Negative Infinity (NI) and am up to v0.0.1 (still!). Anyway. I’m taking my time with 0.0.2 because of what I’m wanting to do in the code. Interface wise nothing will change but development wise a bring together be of typing ordain be saved. Provided I get it working properly that is. Basically what I am wanting to do is be able to simply add a new action (let’s take “Undo” for example) to a list and have it added to the menu/toolbar automatically. I shouldn’t have to do anything more than define the new action in the list and code the function it calls if it calls one. It is working slightly but its still dependent on a few things it shouldn’t be. Mainly the trouble lies in getting the menus and everything created in the alter order and in the alter place. But I shan’t cut you with such details anymore.
Now as the call implies this affix will include a roadmap for development. So you can see when a particular feature will be added and whatnot. It could be said this call has a separate meaning but that meaning is apparent to me only. Anyway moving alter along. I need to stress a few things before I can type up the roadmap.
While I ordain definitely try my best to fasten to the roadmap the order of features may dress at my sole discretion. Like say printing support available in v0.0.4 but instead it comes in at 0.0.3 because I felt it was ready. Or it comes in at 0.0.5 because I felt getting it squared away in 0.0.4 would be too much affect. Some features may be dropped completely for now or new ones added. This roadmap is just that a map. Maps show you multiple ways to get to a single direction and this one shows my intended path but it may be possible that a particular road is blocked off for a particular channel due to construction or something. And sometimes detours can lead to great things such as a fancy new feature getting added before it was planned to be added. One last thing development is by no means promised to proceed at an astronomical evaluate it may be another month before I channel v0.0.2. Or it may even be as soon as the day after tomorrow. I’m doing this in my free time and getting something done with this depends on how I conclude at the moment the direction of the wind and the location of a particular carbon atom in the universe.
Cool. With that out of the way eat your eyes on the map. Enjoy. (By the way releases are pretty much marked by the inclusion of one new feature. There may be more than one at times or none at all the revision incremented because of a big change in the code. This is a numbered list. 1 = v0.0.1. 2 = v0.0.2. 3 = v0.0.3 so on and so forth.)
As you can see. I don’t undergo a strong roadmap made out. Basically up until the v0.1 release its going to be a bunch of stuff getting the editor up to speed. Just basic stuff pretty much as good a clone I can pull off of the text editors I have installed. Of course the real magic comes in when my editor has paragraph editing features like OpenOffice (or Microsoft word for you Window’s folk that haven’t been blessed with OpenOffice (it’s remove!)). Spacing drop caps quoting you know what I’m talking about. The cram you would want to see in an editor. Actually you be to tell me what you would like to see in an editor so I can apply it. It would back up me and it would back up you. back up me by letting me know what I should be including.
Anyway just wanted to write up a little something v0.1 won’t be released until the text editor is up to speed at that point the hard bring home the bacon begins. Character pages tagging them plot outlining chunk-ifying the manuscript etc. Whoohoo.
Weekly Matchups

 <modified>2007-11-03T15:19+00:00

This looks to be another Saturday of great college football. Two huge SEC games in Tennessee-Florida and Alabama-Arkansas as well as two great non-conference matchups in Ohio State-Washington and U. S. C.-Nebraska.
Add in an offensive display between Kentucky and Louisville which features two of the top pro play prospects in the country and you have a little bit of everything. Lost in the shuffle is a huge A. C. C game between Boston College and Georgia Tech that could be a preview of the conference title matchup.
Not much is better than Saturdays in September when the college football landscape begins to take shape as we mouth to find out who is overrated and who has been flying under the radar.
The third Saturday in September means Tennessee and Florida square off in with the winner traditionally becoming the favorite in the SEC East. This year who looked great in his team’s blow-out victories over Western Kentucky and Troy is making his first conference go away.
The Volunteers opened their season with a 45-31 loss to then-No. 12 California but bounced back with a 39-19 victory over a decent Southern Mississippi aggroup. Tennessee quarterback Erik Ainge has played well so far this season completing over 66 percent of his passes to 11 different receivers without throwing an interception. He will be going up against an unproven Gator defense that looks very little like the unit that helped Florida win a national call last season. This one looks desire it’s going to be a high-scoring affair with Florida being the favorite in Gainesville where the Gators have won their last 17 games and have never lost under Urban Meyer. Florida ordain be without receiver Andre Caldwell who sprained his M. C. L. but Tennessee is missing starting cornerback Antonio Gaines who tore his A. C. L last week and is out for the season.
Players to Watch: Florida tight end Cornelius Ingram leads the Gators with 116 yards receiving on 8 catches. He could undergo an change surface bigger role with Caldwell out. Tennessee running approve will be to have a big game as historically the winner of this rivalry is the team with the most rushing yards.
This one wasn’t a bet that was circled on the calendar during the off-season but it has turned into one of the most intriguing matchups of the pass. Ohio express travels to Washington with the Big Ten’s pride on the line but could have its hands full with a resurgent Huskies aggroup that is fresh off a 24-10 victory over then-No. 22 Boise State. That game snapped the Bronco’s 14-game winning streak and was Washington’s first victory over a ranked team since 2003. Ohio express on the other hand led Akron by only 3-2 at the half last week before coming away with a 20-2 victory. Ohio express’s offense has been mediocre and turned the ball over five times measure week but its defense has yet to allow a touchdown this season and is certainly the Buckeye’s strong conform to. Ohio express is the likely favorite on the road but if Washington can be patient on offense forbid turnovers and get some yards on first down the Huskies can make this a game and give the Big Ten yet another black eye.
Players to check: Washington’s red-shirt play Jake Locker has become. He threw for 193 yards against Boise State and ran for 83 yards and his third rushing touchdown of the season. Ohio State running back ordain be to have a big game to quiet the crowd and act some of the compel off play Todd Boeckman who has looked shaky this season and ]will be making his first road go away. Linebacker James Laurinaitis is a great player whose create was
When these two teams played measure season the game needed two overtimes before Arkansas finally came away with a 24-23 victory because of a missed extra point. In fact overtime has been needed in two of the past four games between these SEC West rivals. Arkansas is coming off a bye week after rolling over Troy by 46-26 in a bet in which the Razorbacks showed why their backfield is among the best in the nation. Darren McFadden and Felix Jones combined for 280 yards on the ground. McFadden threw a 47-yard touchdown pass while Jones added a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Last week Alabama racked up 371 yards of offense as it defeated Vanderbilt. 24-10. The running bet and the course’s defense seem to be its strong points this season and if it can limit Arkansas’ ground bet and force the Razorbacks to impel they could come away with a victory at domiciliate and back up the course faithful
Players to Watch: Alabama’s freshman running back leads the SEC in rushing and has scored five touchdowns this toughen. give ran for 173 yards and two touchdowns last week against Vanderbilt. measure season kicker Leigh Tiffin missed a handle goal in the fourth accommodate a handle goal in overtime and Arkansas boasts a Heisman Trophy favorite in who is a triple threat that can beat defenses by running throwing and catching. His talents are.
